IL REGOLAMENTO PPWR E’ LEGGE
On 16 December 2024, the EU Council formally adopted the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The text, which had been approved on 24 April 2024 by the European Parliament, will be published in the Official Journal of the EU in January 2025 and the Regulation will enter into force in mid-2026, after an 18-month transition period. The Packaging Regulation also introduces restrictions on the placing on the market of food contact packaging containing PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances harmful to human health and the environment) above certain thresholds.
