ACQUA POTABILE IMPORTANTI NOVITA’

The Legislative Decree of 19 June 2025, No. 102 updates the previous Legislative Decree of 23 February 2023, No. 18 in an important way. Italy has thus brought itself in line with existing European legislation, focusing on drinking water quality. The decree introduced new parameters and stricter limit values for emerging contaminants, in particular PFAS, with the introduction of TFA (trifluoroacetic acid) as a new parameter. The new requirement highlights an increasing focus on substances that, although emerging, may pose a potential risk to human health and require constant monitoring. Furthermore, Legislative Decree 102/2025 repealed and replaced DM 174/2004 on materials and components for drinking water systems, harmonising the regulations at European level through the introduction of the ReMaF system.
